Beef Tacos

  • Author: Laura Dovnaki
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 tacos

Description

These ground beef tacos are the perfect weeknight meal. They’re easy to make, packed with flavor, and can be customized with your favorite toppings. We love topping ours with diced tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and avocado. You can also add some shredded cheese and sour cream if you like.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 packet Trader Joe’s taco seasoning
  • 1 14-ounce can diced tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Taco shells
  • Toppings of your choice (diced tomatoes, onions, lettuce, avocado, cheese, sour cream, etc.)

Instructions

  • Heat some oil in a pot over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook until caramelized and brown.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until brown and no pink is left.
  • Add the packet of taco seasoning and incorporate all the ingredients.
  • Add the can of diced tomatoes and let it cook for about 30 to 40 minutes on low heat.
  • Warm up the taco shells in the oven or on the stove.
  • Build your tacos with the meat, toppings, and shells.

Notes

  • You can use any type of ground meat for this recipe, but we recommend using ground beef for the best results.
  • You can adjust the amount of taco seasoning to your liking. We like to add the whole packet for more flavor and spice.
  • You can also add some beans or corn to the taco meat for extra texture and flavor.
